Walk of the Innocents to Arcadia

Walk of the Innocents to Arcadia
Walk of Innocents to Arcadia is documenting how an average town in an average county, in England, is being changed by this generation and its potential effects on the next generation.
As a father of two young children my conscience is being prompted into wondering how our changes to Land use will affect my children’s future. As our population continues to expand, converting agricultural land into uses such as housing, energy generation and leisure activities seems to be a questionable change, to our environment, which may create issues for our future generations. UK government statistics for 2013 show only 53% of the food consumed in the UK was produced domestically. While population increases will mean by 2039 the UK’s population will have increased by nearly 10 million to over 74 million.

The End of The Line

The End of The Line
Just 6 years after the opening to the first steam powered railway the Cromford and High Peak railway opened on 6th July 1831. Joining Cromford Wharf and Whaley Bridge Wharf over 33 miles the line opened up the White Peak to the major industrial centres of Manchester and The Midlands.
So 50 years after the routes final closure on 30th April 1967 this book traces what is left of the route through the White Peak.
